Your Dominant Archetypes

Just like Myers Briggs categories, we each have some of each of the archetypes in us. They just differ in order. Knowing what your dominant archetypes are can help you know how the world sees you, what paths might be best for your personality, and gives you a chance to find alignment with some idols of the same archetypes as you (modern, historical, or spiritual). It can even help you find archetypes you're not quite as 'fluent' in and help you cultivate those into a bigger part of your personality.

How does this work with finding your life path?

Let's take a look.

Each of these archetypes has a motto, a goal, a fear, and personality keywords. Each of us typically has a little bit of all of these archetypes within us. The question you're going to ask yourself is...which are my dominant archetypes?

Before you dive into what each of the archetypes are, take the quiz to find out yours. Then we'll learn how to utilize those traits to your advantage, as well as how to cultivate those that aren't so dominant, but just as important.

Let’s say you’re having a rough day with your kids. You feel guilty for not having the house clean enough for them or getting their school supplies, even though school start TOMORROW. You may need to channel your inner Molly Weasley. She had 7 kids and still somehow kept up! (of course, she also had magic, but....we’ll look past that part). She bustled around getting eveything done. Put that in the forefront of your mind.

“Today, I am like Molly Weasley.”

Or let’s say you’re a single gal who’s playing around the dating field. What traits do you want to pull out on a first date (and everyone is different here). Do you want The Maiden? A beautiful Persophone who has a dark side you only get to see once you’ve earned it?

Do you walk into the room as The Queen, since you ARE the Queen of your life? A little Margaery Tyrell? You don’t take s*** from anyone and know what you want.

Or do you pull out your Lover archetype? Sultry and evocotive?

There are many ways to invoke archetypes into your daily life. Find the ones that suit you for each one and practice embodying those characteristic you look up to in them so you’re no longer saying, “They’re so cool, I wish I was like them.” and instead you’re saying, “I am just like them....and better because I”m me.”

It’s not about not being yourself. It’s about pulling out parts of yourself you want, like, or need for different situations.
